Welcome to Long Eaton Running Club
Long Eaton Running Club is a friendly running club with over 300 members. We are a diverse group. We have notable success in helping to get people in the local area running through the Couch-to-5k programme, we are enthusiastic supporters of our local parkrun, and we are very successful in local competition.
Club nights are on Tuesday and Thursday each week; meeting at West Park Leisure Centre from 6.20pm onwards. There is a pre-run briefing at 6.30pm, with the run following soon afterwards. There are usually at least two options for distance and, if you are new to the club, you will be paired with a similar-paced runner to make sure you don't get lost. We offer trial membership for 4 weeks. So if you fancy a run with us, just drop us a message to let us know you will be coming along and then make yourself known when you arrive.
To get a feel for what the club is like ahead of your visit, please take a look around this website or our facebook page. Read more about us here

Bannister 1 mile race - a well loved event in the calendar. A very popular event commemorating the heroic run by Roger Bannister on 6th May 1954. This will be done in small groups of runners on a 1 mile measured course in West Park. It will be timed and the results will be posted on the club website. Think of it as similar to the time trail event held last month but over a much shorter distance. For the record Roger's time was 3 minutes 59.4 seconds The winter league trophy presentation will take place at The Sportsman after the race.

Congratulations to Katie Cotton
Our February winner is someone who has been at the club for a long time . She is a huge fan of Parkrun, having completed 602!!
She began the month with a great run at Black Rocks Parkrun in a CB time of 21.23. The following day she ran the Alsager 5 mile race in a speedy 35.23 and a week later, the Bolsover 10k in 43.43- some very impressive running. She rounded off the month with another course best, this time at Doddington Parkrun where she knocked off 10 seconds to finish in 21.13.
Although officially in March, I’d like to add that she clawed a further 17 seconds off that 5k time on March 1st at the Abbey Park Parkrun. I sense she is aiming to get as close to her PB time of 20.35 which she attained on Christmas Day 2016. I wish her continued success in her running.
Congratulations to our February Runner of the month ‘ Katie Cotton’ 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
