June Runner of the Month – Luke Woodiwiss
Luke has shown throughout June, what the benefits of consistent hard training can do to performances, as his work on speed sessions paid off with two big PB’s.
As well as his PB’s Luke has also done parkruns, the Hairy Helmet, Ramathon and both of the Summer League races, making it 9 out of 11 that he has done – which places him in 5th overall and 2nd V35 as it stands currently.
Luke’s first big PB of the month was at the Ramathon, where he recorded 1:43:11. This represented a 5 minute best, beating a time that had stood for 3 years and was also at a somewhat quicker pace than his 10k PB is – so we expect that one to go soon too!
Then at Long Eaton parkrun, Luke knocked another 50 seconds off a PB that was only set in May! A man that’s clearly in great form. Maybe it was the malt loaf, maybe it was the hard work and training… or maybe a bit of both, but what’s clear is that either way these PB’s and good performances are fully deserved.
