Long Eaton Running Club

Long Eaton Running Club is a friendly running club with over 300 members. We are a diverse group. We have notable success in helping to get people in the local area running through the Couch-to-5k programme, we are enthusiastic supporters of our local parkrun, and we are very successful in local competition.
Club nights are on Tuesday and Thursday each week; meeting at West Park Leisure Centre from 6.20pm onwards. There is a pre-run briefing at 6.30pm, with the run following soon afterwards. There are usually at least two options for distance and, if you are new to the club, you will be paired with a similar-paced runner to make sure you don't get lost. We offer trial membership for 4 weeks. So if you fancy a run with us, just drop us a message to let us know you will be coming along and then make yourself known when you arrive.

To get a feel for what the club is like ahead of your visit, please take a look around this website or our facebook page. Read more about us here

Runner of the Month

Congratulations to Sarah Johnstone
March Runner Of The Month.

Prior to writing this, I read a comment on the clubs Facebook page which really struck a chord. There’s a hell of a lot of members in the club who quietly go about their business, train hard and get the rewards.
The March runner of the month nominees are made up of such people.
Impressive PBs at Wilmslow half for Will Lunn Pigula and Dan Hawley (1:08 and 1:11)
Darlington at The Hague Half (1:10), Ben Plummer (1:14) at Forest of Dean Half. PBs and top performances at Ashby 20 for George Lewis, Cathy Brown, Marie Martin and Josh Green. And, the comeback of Phil Thompson!
But the March runner of the month goes to someone who a year ago came through the clubs C25K programme, she then went on, with a group of friends to continue that training and her progression is nothing but impressive.
March resulted in two 5k PBs at west park (26:36 and 26:04), a 10k Pb at the Notts 10k (54:56). She then took on the Ashby 20 (3:21) in preparation for Aprils London Marathon.
In a week that sees the current C25K graduation, it’s a timely reminder of what can be achieved through dedication and hard work.
Congratulations to March ROTM - Sarah Johnstone.
