Was Runner Of The Month for

What a month of great running, performances and support all round. Marathon fever took over with so many 1st timers, personal and course best's achieved. For some getting to the start and finish line was the achievement, overcoming injury and fears. Seeing our members working together throughout training, working hard and helping others was above and beyond. Each individual having a story of their marathon journey to tell but one thing in common to say they'd crossed the finish line, proud and congrats to everyone. This month's runner of the month goes to Anthony Hatswell, who started the year with great performances achieving a half marathon pb in 1:15:04, a 1st place in the Stanford 10k and a 10 min pb and cb at Ashby20. With training focused and all roads leading to the mall for the iconic London marathon, Anthony completed in 2:39:15 with huge pb and cb by 13 minutes and achieving a club championship place for 2015. Congratulations to Anthony and we wish you continued success for the future.

n the end though, we couldn't ignore some actual racing - particularly when one LERC member had two such impressive results in the space of a week. With a new 5k PB of 15:53 on flat, dry tarmac in Milton Keynes, following up on a podium finish at the (rather contrasting!) Belper Rover 30k trail race, the August RotM is Anthony Hatswell 😃

For those of you who follow him on Strava and/or catch our related weekly mileage 'Hit Parade' you'll know that this is no accident - a serious amount of hard training has been put in, so it's great to see you reaping the rewards, Anthony - well done.
